Las Olas was founded in 1997 by Bev Sanders, who has made a lifelong commitment to empowering women through board sports. Bev co-founded Avalanche Snowboards in 1985, and was recognized by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine as the pioneer woman of the sport.

Bev took her first surfing lesson at the age of 44 while on vacation in Maui. The transformative experience motivated her to launch Las Olas Surf Safaris, the original surf camp for women.

Staffed by world class female instructors, Las Olas guests learn to surf in a supportive, pressure-free environment. Called the “Golden Door of Surf Camps” by the press and “transformative fun” by our guests, Las Olas has inspired thousands of women to paddle out and catch their first wave.
